Being a Massage Therapist allows me to directly impact the health of my patients, and I find this very rewarding. As someone who has a long history of skiing, off-road biking, running, rollerblading, and weightlifting, I know firsthand the benefits of therapeutic body care.
I did not want basic massage training or to perform spa work. I wanted to go beyond the skin, address the structure, and learn about the body as a functional being. I obtained accreditation through The Soma Institute’s 750-hour Clinical Massage Therapy program, and graduated with President’s Honors, in December 2007 and National and State licensing, January 2008.
My beliefs and approach to massage are not about how many techniques I am trained in, it is about how effective my skills are, and the positive healing effect it has on my patients. Throughout my years in practice, I help relieve chronic pain that releases both mental and physical stress. I facilitate change in the body’s structure, which stops the injury/pain cycle that so many of us go through needlessly. I specialize in facilitating change.
I look forward to the opportunity to be part of your healing journey!
Kindly, Melanie Austin, L.C.M.T. |
