Tensegrity – What Is It?

Tensegrity refers to the balance and synchronicity of active strength, static tension and whole body flexibility. It is your body’s innate ability to be strong and flexible in all movement.

About the Classes

The Balancing Center’s Tensegrity classes represent our perspective on the very latest and most advanced movement therapy techniques available. These principles, developed with over 35 years of combined professional experience, were designed to help you improve and maintain balance as you move through the stresses of daily life.

Tensegrity classes are taught in 4 levels. Each class runs approximately 60 minutes and is limited to 1-3 participants. Please dress comfortably in loose clothing

The initial class introduces you to simple movement sequences that we feel allow you to safely participate in yoga and other popular and beneficial exercise programs. You will learn principles that foster an intuitive awareness of what needs to take place in your body to make balanced, healthy movement possible. In just a few minutes of practice a day, you’ll become increasingly able to reset your system and reduce pain and tension. Subsequent classes add to this basic movement sequence, intensifying your practice and further challenging you.

Who is this class for?

This class is designed for everyone. From the retiree to the professional athlete, the business person to the student. From the person experiencing limiting pain and discomfort to the person who enjoys taking on new challenges.
